Сценарійріздвяногосвята "Winter holidays in different countries"

Цілі заходу:

практичні: традиції святкування Різдва;

освітні: розширення та поглиблення соціокультурної компетентності учнів, закріплення знань та вмінь у нестандартній ситуації. Розвиток комунікативних компетенцій. Формування почуттів патріотизму та інтернаціоналізму, готовності до вступу в іншомовне спілкування, розуміння ролі англійської мови як мови міжнародного спілкування.

розвивальні: розвиток монологічного мовлення та творчих здібностей учнів через позакласну діяльність;

виховні: виховувати повагу до культури, традицій та звичаїв інших країн.

Обладнання: ноутбук, диск із записами різдвяних пісень, презентації, роздатковий матеріал.

Pupil 1. Dear friends, guests and teachers! Welcome to our party. Today we are here to remember the history of Christmas holidays and traditions the most of people follow!

Pupil 2. Christmas… A beautiful time of the year… With carols and tinsel and lots of good cheers. Christmas is a family holiday. All the family usually meets for the big Christmas dinner of turkey and pudding. All the children like this wonderful time because it is the time of much fun.

Pupil 1. Over four weeks before Christmas people bring "Advent Wreath" to the house. They put on it four candles. On the first Sunday, one candle is lit, the second - two and so on.

Pupil 3.Santa Claus got his name from a man known as St. Nicolas, who lived in the fourth century. He gave his wealth to the poor and often to children. After he died, the Dutch brought this legend to colonial America. Soon the Dutch name Sinter Klaus became Santa Claus.

We all know the story about Santa. He lives on North Pole along with his wife, elves and reindeers. Elves help him to process requests of millions of children who write letters to Santa every year requesting for toys and other wishes, to help him determine whether these children have been good or bad, to fulfill the wishes of all good children and make requested toys for them. On Christmas Eve, Santa wears his famous red suit with white snow-white trimmings.

In the week before Christmas people make or buy Christmas cards and send them to their friends, grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles. Christmas cards were introduced in Britain in 1840. Many children make their cards at school. The most popular wishes in these holiday cards are:

P2. Christmas Eve is on the 24 th of December. On this day everybody is very busy and in a hurry. Offices close at 1 o’clock, but the shops stay open late. The windows of the shops are set with little angels, snowmen, deer and lots of Santa Clauses. Streets and buildings are decorated with fine garlands. Beautiful wreaths are put on the doors of the houses.

Every year the people of Norway give the city of London a present. It’s a big Christmas tree and it stands in the Trafalgar Square.

Before Christmas, groups of singers go from house to house. They collect money for charities and sing carols, traditional Christmas songs.

Now children are told that Santa Claus or Father Christmas in a red suit, red hat and with long white beard puts presents for them into their stockings by the fireplace.

The winter traditions of decorating homes with evergreens began in ancient times ago. English people decorate their homes with mistletoe, holly and other evergreens

P1December 26th is Boxing Day. Traditionally, boys from each town asked for money at Christmas. They went from house to house and took boxes made of wood with them. At each house people gave them money. This was a Christmas present. So the name of this day doesn’t come from the sport of boxing- it comes from the boys’ wooden boxes. Now, Boxing Day is an extra holiday after Christmas Day...

Most people go out to see friends, watch sports events, go to theatre to see a pantomime, or increasingly nowadays, go shopping.

Be it western or eastern part of World, New Year is celebrated with equal enthusiasm everywhere. Here is the list of some interesting traditions followed in different countries to celebrate New Year.

ENGLAND: The English people celebrate New Year with full of hospitality and great warmth. They believe that the first guest in the upcoming year should be a male and should enter through the front door and may bring back their fortune days. Also they wish he bear some traditional gifts like drink for the head of the family, toys for kids or glitters to sunshine the house and if all these happens then they believe it will bring good luck throughout the year.

CHINA: The Chinese people have a very different and unique tradition to celebrate New Year, as on this great occasion the front door of every house is painted in red which symbolizes the happiness and good fortune. Also they hide all the knives and swords or sharping materials for the New Year day so that no one can harm oneself because that may actually harm the happiness of whole family for the coming year.

DENMARK: In Denmark, people save old dishes and a keep a pile of broken dishes in front of the friend’s door. As they usually throw these dishes on friend’s door during New Year which symbolizes the friendship or brotherhood between them. Also they believe that the person having more number of broken dishes outside house, has maximum number of friends.

GERMANY: The German people considered Lead as to be auspicious material and during New Year Eve they predicts the future with the help of this auspicious material,Lead. As they pour molten Lead into cold water and the shape that is taken after helps in prediction. Heart shapes symbolize marriage whereas round shapes denote good luck; anchor shapes tell that you need help however a cross signifies someone’s sad demise.

In Italy, at New Year’s Eve, people took to the streets, and set off fireworks and firecrackers, singing New year songs and dancing to celebrate. Midnight, some families will throw abandoned pots and pans outside the door, children arbitrary smashed things, in order to send the old and welcome the new.

In France, on New Year’s Eve, it is not better to keep leftover wine, it is said that leftover wine meaning the coming year is unlucky. Therefore, a lot of people on New Year’s Eve drink got wasted, who open a bottle of wine, and had to drink overturned.

In Greece, on New Year’s Day, a beautiful girl will be elected playing an angel, send New Year’s gifts to the children.
